Doan’s® Maximum Strength Caplets are used to temporarily relieve backaches and pains, also including muscle aches and other minor aches and pain, when used as directed.

Doan’s® Maximum Strength Caplets contain magnesium salicylate, an NSAID pain reliever that temporarily relieves back pain and other minor aches and pains when used as directed.

Dosage & Usage

The adult dosage for Doan’s® Maximum Strength Caplets is two (2) caplets with a full glass of water every 6 hours, not to exceed eight (8) caplets in 24 hours. Doan’s ® Maximum Strength Caplets are not to be used by children under 12 years unless directed by a doctor. Be sure to read the entire Drug Facts labeling, including Use, Warnings, and Directions on the product package before use.
Take Doan’s® with a full glass of water. Always follow the Directions on the label.

Ingredients & How It Works

Each Doan’s® Maximum Strength Caplets contains 580 mg of a pain reliever called Magnesium Salicylate Tetrahydrate – a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
Magnesium salicylate tetrahydrate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in a group of drugs called salicylates. This medicine works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, substances in the body involved in pain signaling.

Drug Interactions & Safety

Do not take Doan’s ® Maximum Strength Caplets if you are taking a blood thinning (anticoagulant) drug, steroid drug, or taking other drugs containing prescription or non-prescription NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen or others). Consult your doctor or pharmacist should you have any further questions or concerns regarding the use of Doan’s ® Maximum Strength Caplets with other medication(s).
Using NSAIDs with three or more alcoholic drinks daily increases the risk of stomach bleeding. Always follow the label and ask a doctor if you have questions.

Health Conditions & When to Ask a Doctor

Ask a doctor before use if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, are at risk for stomach bleeding, you have a history of stomach problems such as heartburn, you have asthma, or are taking a diuretic. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking a prescription drug for gout, diabetes, or arthritis. Use Doan’s® Maximum Strength Caplets only as directed. If pregnant or breastfeeding, ask a healthcare professional before use. It is especially important to not use magnesium salicylate at 20 weeks or later in the pregnancy unless directed to do so by a doctor as it may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery.
